What this site measures

We count visits so we can tell whether the catalog is reaching the people who could reuse what is in it. We do not use cookies, we do not build profiles, and nothing here identifies you.

Visit statistics

This site uses Umami, an open-source analytics tool, hosted in the European Union. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is no consent banner to click.

For each page view it records:

RecordedWhy
Page visitedWhich datasets and use cases people actually open
Referring siteWhether a link we shared brought anyone here
Country, region and cityWhether the catalog reaches the regions it is built for
Browser, operating system, device typeWhether the site works on the devices people use

Umami states that it collects no personally identifiable information and anonymises what it does collect. Your IP address is used to work out a location and is not stored in the statistics. We do not know your name, and we do not follow you across other websites. See Umami's privacy policy for their side of it.

Being precise about one thing: the pages you open in a single visit are grouped together as a session. So a session shows as one row, listing its city, browser, operating system, device and the pages it viewed, without a name attached to it.

These statistics are public

We publish them rather than keep them to ourselves. The live dashboard is open to anyone, with no account and no login, and it includes the per-session rows described above.

We would rather you could see exactly what we see than take our word for what we collect. If you think that is the wrong call, tell us and we will reconsider it.

Other services this site loads

Being straight about this: a few things on the page are fetched from other companies' servers, and any such request necessarily reveals your IP address to them.

  • GitHub Pages hosts this site, so GitHub (Microsoft, USA) handles every request.
  • Google Fonts serves the typeface.
  • Cloudflare serves the icon set.

None of these are used by us for tracking, and we set no advertising or third-party tracking of any kind. We do not sell or share visit data with anyone.

Data you send us deliberately

If you open an issue on GitHub or email us, we keep what you send in order to reply. Nothing on this site asks you to log in or fill in a form.
